When the pandemic hit, we could no longer access the Block 1750 space and our community – which has been a support to dozens of transgender youth and creative aspirants – almost disappeared. Yet, a few of us rallied together and transitioned our community online.
Those once living in Boulder now dispersed throughout the USA and as far as Qatar began to meet, rebuild community, and support each other through challenging times – and yes, to continue creating art, music, poetry and friendships despite the struggles.
In celebration of our efforts, 52 weeks of living art and community, we put together a collection of art and writings from those who’ve generated work at our community “Writer’s Block” events during the pandemic this past year.
Visit us at Block 1750 in Boulder, CO (1750 30th St). Every Wednesday at 9pm we throw down for writing, prompts, and sharing out loud. “Outside the Box, All Day!”
